Short Description: The proposed “PACK CELL” is to replace the outdated Bragaw Residence Hall on NC State Central campus,
with a newer facility and to enhance the living and learning environment of the students at NC State University situated in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The project is also intended to “activate” the street life of the existing site and the connecting areas on the
site. The proposed building is “first phase” of a long-term re-development of the vicinity. The upcoming building is a combination of student residence, study and work spaces.
Architect's Statement: The proposed ideation connects the entire site with the corresponding building and dining hall. The building block placed right in axis with the Dan Allen drive would cater student community at the proposed wolf square right in front of the building and act as an intermediate connection to other walkways around the site. The planning constitutes of various small as well as larger pockets of green spaces which could enact as activity hotspots. Moreover the new proposed residence will accommodate twice the number of students then the older Bragaw Hall. The new residential dorm units are designed to enhance the spirit of "The Wolf Pack" community with providing enhanced living experience. Each housing module has been design in a compact yet efficient manner with accommodating total of four individuals in a single dorm unit of 670 sq.ft of area. Moreover each floor has been clustered efficiently and well connected with ample light and breathing spaces in the main aisle.
